U.S. veteran William Gonzales, 80, of Commerce City, died Oct. 31, 2010, in Lafayette.
He was born Sept. 5, 1930,to Jose Ruperto and Juanita (Aguilar) Gonzales in Berthoud, William served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan Burns, of Commerce City; children; Roxanne (Billy) Eggert, of Wagon Mound, N.M., Robert (Opal) Wayne, of Arvada, William Anthony (Melissa), of Thornton, Diane Lynn (Jeff) Perry, Debra Jean, Denise Lucy (Michael) Hudson and John Joseph, all of Commerce City; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren; one brother; Ruperto Gonzales of Westminster; and two sisters, Cecilia Maes of Bailey and Elizabeth Leon Harris of Golden.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one brother; and one sister.
Services are Nov. 3, at Our Lady of the Mother Catholic Church in Commerce City, beginning with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., rosary at 11 a.m., and Mass of Christian burial at noon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
