Severe weather warning extended

DENVER -- Frederick, Brighton, Fort Lupton and Firestone are part of a severe thunderstorm warning that is valid until 4:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service said its radar detected a storm that was capable of producing half-dollar sized hail. Spotters in Boulder reported nickel-sized hail with this cell. At 3:35 p.m., the storm was just south of Dacono and moving east at 25 mph.

Brighton police reported small hail near Interstate 76 and Bridge Street around 4 p.m.
