I love Chick Fil-A. Who doesn’t? Well, I’m sure there are a few people that don’t, but that’s not normal. In fact, we should probably show the non-Chick-fil-A-loving people a little more love and grace because they are obviously not living to their full potential.

All joking aside, I really do love Chick-fil-A. The food is incredible. The service is unbeatable. They play Christian music. And the best part…the kid’s play area is always clean. Every parent knows that is a huge bonus when choosing a fast-food place. My husband and I think it is such a treat to go to out to eat and then be able to sit back, relax and have an adult conversation while the kids are happy playing away from us in a clean and safe play area.

For those of you who read my articles regularly, you know that I am always looking for a deal and that I’m not a huge fan of any kind of debt. So when I decided to take on a part-time job to help pay both my husband and my vehicles off within a year, it only made sense to put in an application at my favorite place.

I have now been working at Chick-fil-A for more than a month. And to be honest, I like working there as much as I like eating there. We all know that the service at Chick-fil-A’s second to none in the fast-food world. It makes a little more sense to me now. This is a company that respects its employees, encourages them to do their best and really runs more like a family than as a business.

The one thing that I’ve learned is that I am to put the customer in front of everything else that I’m doing. Mrs. (Vicki) Halbritter, the owner and my boss, has made it very clear that anything that I am doing can wait as long as the customer is being served. I know that I always feel doled upon when I am a customer at Chick-fil-A, and now it is my job to make sure that I make the people that I serve feel just as special. And it is my pleasure to do so.

One thing that surprises me is the amount of people that come in to Chick-fil-A for the first time. How can they have never had the sweet yummy goodness that is Chick-fil-A before? And I get at least three people a day who tell me this. Wonders never cease to amaze me.

I had no idea that I would enjoy working part time as much as I do. I honestly believe it wouldn’t be as wonderful if I had chosen anywhere else to work. I have even become better at managing my time with my husband and children. It has truly been a blessing in our lives.

And now I think I love Chick-fil-A even more than I did before. And I didn’t think that would ever be possible.
