Raymond E. Knodel, 74, of Brighton, passed away Nov. 12, 2010, at his home. He was born July 19, 1936, in Denver to Benjamin and Beulah Smith Knodel. He attended schools in Denver. Ray married Rosalie Beierle Nov. 26, 1955, in Brighton.
Ray owned and operated Ray & Sons Automotive in Brighton. He also drove a truck for TWX and Capron, and he worked for Kuner Canning Factory and the Great Western Sugar Factory. Ray loved fishing and hunting, and he was not afraid of hard work. Ray was devoted to his wife and family.
He is survived by his children, Ron (Rhonda) Knodel of Brighton, Rick (Cheri) Knodel of Fort Lupton, Russ (Terri) Knodel of Brighton, Roxanne (James) Propp of Odessa, Texas, Rodney (Shelley) Knodel of Brighton; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years in 2005; both parents, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Nov. 14, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Funeral is 2 p.m., Nov. 15, also at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Interment follows at Elmwood Cemetery.
