The strings will be twanging, the beer flowing and the tunes fast for the Rapidgrass Bluegrass Festival in Idaho Springs Aug. 20.
Started by Idaho Springs locals Mark and Sarah Morris, the festival will have stalls for food, art, beer and more. Highlighting the festival will be its namesake, the band of mountain music with Mark Morris himself: Rapidgrass.
The motivation to create the festival was to “play music for the local community,” Mark said.
The final lineup includes Heavy Diamond Ring, Jake Leg, Buffalo Commons, Sister Sarah, The Burney Sisters, Gypsy Cattle Drive, The Credibility Gap, Mark & Maggie, the Wrecklunds and Rapidgrass as the headliner.
The festival is from 10 a.m. to midnight.
“They’ll see some amazing acts,” Mark said. “It’s free too.”
