Raising awareness for Special Olympics
Adams County Sheriff Richard Reigenborn holds the torch in advance of the Special Olympics torch run through Brighton May 22. Members of the sheriff's department and Brighton police participated in the run. It started at the Adams County Jail and continued west on Bridge Street to Veterans Park. It's a fundraiser for more than 15,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes. According to Special Olympics Colorado, this event is the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.
