State 5A wrestling: PVHS' Vigil takes home state title

PUEBLO --Ane'e Vigil of Prairie View High School capped off an undefeated season with a class 5A wrestling title at the daylong state wrestling tournament March 13 at Southwest Motors Events Center.

Vigil, a sophomore, finished with a mark of 18-3. His closest match was in the finals, where he beat Ponderosa's Otto Black 3-1.

His other two wins were at the expense of Fruita Monument's Gano Gallegos by a major, 16-3 decision in the quarterfinals and a 5-0 decision over Lakewood's Isaiah Sisneros 5-0 in the semifinals.
