Lora Dersham, 37, of Friona, Texas, passed away Nov. 5, 2010, along with her two favorite companions, a border collie and her horse.
Celebration of life services, under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas, were Nov. 9. A separate memorial service will be 1 p.m., Nov. 13, at the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church in Pine Bluffs, Wyo.
Lori was born July 11, 1973, in Greeley, the daughter of Dan and Jan Dersham. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Brighton for eight years and graduated from Brighton High School in 1990. She attended LCCC in Cheyenne, Wyo., for two years and transferred to Colorado State University.
After living and working in Pine Bluffs for several years, she moved to Texas where she worked in several large feed yards as well as trained and broke horses, which was her passion. She lived in Friona where she found God with the help of friends and a church family called “The Barn."
Survivors include her father, Dan, and step-mother, Kay Dersham, of Pine Bluffs; her mother, Jan (Cooper) Dersham, of Huson, Wyo.; two brothers, Jesse Dersham, of the University of Wyoming at Laramie, Wyo., and Justin Dersham and wife, Trish, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; maternal grandmother, Laura Knapp, of Cortez; aunt: Lynelle Brumley, of Cortez; and two nephews. Jordan and Quinton of Cheyenne.
