Linda Cawthra

Linda Cawthra, 65, of Fort Lupton, died May 29, 2010, at her home after a short battle with cancer.

    She was born Dec. 31, 1944, in Greeley, to Adolph and Dorothy (Adamson) Rabas. She grew up and attended school in Fort Lupton and finished living her entire life there. Linda married Glenn E. Cawthra Nov. 24, 1962, in Aurora. She worked during her younger years at the Fort Lupton Canning Co., several years at DeKalb chicken farm in Hudson. She then went to work for Weld County School District Re-8, where she retired after 30 years in food service. She was a member of the Fort Lupton Booster Club. She received the Outstanding Food Service Employee Award in 2005. Her pride and passion for her yard and flower gardens caught the eyes of many. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Linda is survived by her husband; children, Lori (Glen) Gude, of Brighton, Eddie (Richelle) Cawthra, of Firestone, Coreen (Kirk) Hamilton, of Platteville, Tami (Erik) Bland, of Thornton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Harms, of Calif.; brothers, Loy Rabas, of Texas, Gary Rabas, of Fort Lupton, and Ronnie Rabas, of Lochbuie.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladis Thiel; and brothers, Don and Dell Rabas.

    Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., June 3, and memorial service is at 10 a.m., June 4, both at First Baptist Church of Fort Lupton.
