A thief did double damage when they broke into two vehicles Nov. 30.
A 56-year-old Brighton woman reported to police that someone broke into their 2004 Kia Sedona van and 1998 Ford truck sometime between Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 as the vehicles were parked in front of their Cisne Circle home.
Both vehicles sustained damage to their stereo faceplates, although the thief wasn’t able to remove either stereo system. The damage to the stereo systems was estimated at about $400/ A slow cooker, meant as a gift and worth about $78 were missing from the van.
Neither vehicle suffered outside damage but the woman insisted both vehicles were locked and that the truck’s alarm system never sounded. Police conducted a neighborhood canvass and a resident, farther down the street, said their vehicle was also broken into and they already filed a police report.
Police have no suspects or leads in the thefts.
