Employee’s money, cigarettes stolen

Posted

An employee at Sterling House in Brighton, 2215 Egbert St., said items were stolen from her purse during her work shift Sept. 19.
The woman told police she left her purse in the employee lounge when she began her shift at 10 p.m., Friday and checked on it at one point during her shift. But, when she went to retrieve her purse at 7 a.m., about $500 was missing and some cigarettes. She said she did not suspect her night shift co-worker and mentioned to police that a report was filed two weeks earlier of an unidentified individual who entered the care center through the employee entrance, near the lounge.
Police have no leads or suspects in the theft.
