Donna Lee Hickenbottom, 67, of Brighton, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Denver.
Donna was born June 21, 1942, in Akron, the third child of Irvin and Doris Resler. She attended Akron public schools and graduated in 1960. She then attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling where she began to pursue a degree in social work. She met and fell in love with her husband of 47 years, Roger Dean Hickenbottom. Roger had just moved to Sterling after serving in the United States Air Force. Together, they raised two daughters.
Donna was a homemaker. But when her children were grown, she held a number of different jobs and landed at Platte Valley Medical Center in 1995.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Lisa, of Denver; sister, Leta Brandon, of Akron; brother, Ray Resler, of Alameda, Calif.; and, of course, numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Mona.
Memorial service was Nov. 22 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
