U.S. veteran Dennis LaVern Wiberg Jr., 58, of Henderson, died unexpectedly April 1, 2010.

    He was born July 18, 1951 in Hibbing, Minn., to Dennis and Shirley Wiberg. He married Margaret “Peggy” Stotts in Columbia Heights, Minn. Later, in 2003, he married Irina Litvinenko, of Meleuz, Russia, in Cyprus. They lived in Blaine, Minn., until moving to the Denver area in 2004.  Dennis worked 18 years at St. Jude Medical in Minnetonka, Minn., as a distribution supervisor. He most recently worked at Micro Motion in Boulder as a distribution specialist. He also served in the United States Army from March 1969 through March 1972. He reached the rank of specialist and served as a tank mechanic in Bad Kissingen, Germany. Dennis enjoyed painting and writing poetry, winning many local poetry contests. He also enjoyed reading and working on home remodeling projects.

    He is survived by his wife, Irina; children, Dennis Wiberg, III of Minnetonka, Alethea Wiberg, of Columbia Heights, Minn., Eric Wiberg, of Moundsview, Minn., and Dylan Wiberg, of Henderson; brothers, David (Scarlett) Svaleson, of East Helena, Mont., Stephen (Patti) Svaleson, of Cloquet, Minn., Ray Svaleson, of Manhattan, Mont., Charles (Patty) Wiberg, of Mora, Minn., and Cody (Kathy) Wiberg, of Red Wing; sister Jolie-jordan (Kevin) Buchtel, of Princeton, Minn., and grandson, Jacob Huot of Columbia Heights.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Edward Svaleson.

    A visitation will from 5 to 8 p.m., April 7 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton. Funeral service is at 10 a.m., April 8, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Logan Cemetery, Staging Area A.
