City employees brighten holidays for area children

BRIGHTON — City Hall looked more like Santa's workshop Tuesday as a number of city employees were busy wrapping gifts.
Employees from the city of Brighton through Brighton Employee Charities contributed donations throughout the year to the program, which was able to give Christmas gifts to more than 120 local children this holiday season.

This year, the program was carried out in conjunction with the Christmas Crusade. Volunteers from a number of agencies throughout the city were on hand to assist in the gift wrapping efforts at City Hall. Some families will stop in to pick up their gifts and visit with Santa this week and Brighton police officers will deliver the rest of the gifts starting today.
