U.S. veteran Charles A. Balczyk, 91, of Brighton, passed away March 18, 2010.
Charles attended high school at Ridge Technical High School in East Cambrige, Mass. He married Lillian Weaver in 1941 in Denver. He lived in Brighton since 1947.
Charles served two terms in the U.S. Army and Air Corps during World World War II and post-World War I. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for more than 20 years and retired in 1969. He also worked for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Charla (Bob) Jackson, of Brighton; grandchildren; Robin (James) Berger, Tony (Jennie) Jackson, Jimmy (Amy) Jackson, Tara Jackson; great-grandchildren; Ben, Joe, Sam, Jake, Jon, Ashley and Brock.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Weaver, in 1970 and one sister, Helen, in 1975.
Memorial Mass was March 22 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton. Interment followed at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Tabor-Rice Funeral handled the arrangements.
