Brighton easily won the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference swimming and diving championship over the weekend,.

BHS totaled 737 points. Rangeview took second place with 495 points.

Boys basketball

Brighton stopped Adams City 91-54 in Brighton Feb. 5 behind 21 points from Geo Velarde. Jackson Kroll added 15.

BHS also beat Northglenn 62-51 Feb. 1 in Northglenn.  Velarde scored 14 points, and Kroll chipped in with 11 to topl BHS" scoresheet. Ahmon Weimand led the Norse with 16 points. Jonathan Hernandez finished with a dozen.

Girls basketball

Brighton downed Adams City 35-19 in Commerce City Feb. 4. No stats were available.

Horizon beat the Bulldogs 71-34 in Thornton Feb. 5.  Audra Vine led the Hawks with 25 points.  Morgan Ives added 17.
