Beatrice M. Wegner, 95, of Brighton, passed away Sept. 5, 2010.
She was born Aug. 12, 1915, to John and Beatrice (Minish) Welsh in Emmett, Neb. Bea graduated from O’Neil High School in 1934.
Grandma Bea spent her youth in Nebraska on a farm outside of Emmett. Later the family moved to Wilcox, Neb. She married Ernest W. Wegner Oct. 26, 1935, in Emmett. After marrying, she and Ernie moved to Ainsworth, Neb., then to North Platte, Neb., and finally to Chadron, Neb., where three of their four daughters graduated from high school. After a short move to Colorado Springs in 1964 they moved back to North Platte where they resided until the death of her husband in 1972. Bea then moved to Brighton. She worked part time for Kitayama Brothers and also for Ben Franklin in Brighton.
Bea was a member of the Catholic Ladies Altar Society in Chadron and also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church since 1972.
She is survived by her children, Doris Semroska, of Fort Lupton, Mary Ann Sandoval, of Thornton, Kathy (Dave) Jacovetta, of Brighton, and Patti (Mike) Earl, of Brighton; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband; both of her parents; two sisters; and three grandsons.
Rosary will be said at 11 a.m., Sept. 10, 2010, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
