AURORA -- Prairie View's Keagan Bond was the overall medalist at the first of two major (all-school) golf tournaments Aug. 18 at Aurora Hills Golf Course.
Bond, a sophomore, fired an even par 72. He finished his round with five birdies, including the 545-yard 10th hole.
Brighton's Kyle Leydon took second in individual stroke play. He turned in a 1-over par 73, which included three birdies. One of those was on the 482-yard eighth hole.
PVHS' Payton Crawford finished with an 85, and Owen Crawford finished with a 91. Brighton's Coby Puzio finished with an 84, and Caleb Rankin carded an 87.
BHS was third in the team standings, and Prairie View took fourth. Cherry Creek High School took the overall team title.
The sescond of the two major tournaments is Thursday, Sept. 16, in Westminster. The scores from the two meets determine the EMAC league title and all-conference recipients.
