Class 5A girls soccer: Prairie View draws Arapahoe in opening round

Prairie View High School made the state 5A soccer playoff field this season.

The ThunderHawks visit Arapahoe High School at 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. The game is at Littleton Public Schools Stadium on the campus of Littleton high School.

PVHS was 8-2 during the regular year and finished second in the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference. Brooklyn McKinney led the offense with 24 goals in those 10 games. She totaled 57 points. The next highest scorer was Chloe Gray with nine goals and 27 points.

Goalkeeping duties fell to Sophia Misuraca (41 saves this season and a goals-against average of 1.8) and Zoey Gallegos (30 saves and a goals-against average of 1.3)

The Warriors were 8-2, 6-1 in the Centennial League. Paige Foa led the scoring effort with 10 goals and 23 points. Addie Craig, Caroline Weiss and Brynn Schimabukuro scored five goals.

Goalkeeper Abby Morgan took the majority of time in net for Arapahoe. In 10 games, she made 51 saves and had a goals-against average of 1.1.

The winner gets either Cherry Creek or Fairview in the quarterfinals later in the week.
